Mike Salazar

I plan on being the best salsero in Indy. A little presumptuous to say on a salsa website, knowing that I only know about five salsa patterns, but it is this drive that keeps me dancing. I started dancing ballroom 6 years ago in undergrad, and have just recently transitioned to salsa. I think it was my roots, being half Puerto Rican and half Mexican that have led me back home to this style of dance. I am happy to have been chosen as the salsero of the week; this makes my goal, salsero of the state, that much closer. I'll end with an excerpt from Walt Whitman:

"…To be lost if it must be so!
To feed the remainder of life with one hour of fullness and freedom!
With one brief hour of madness and joy.
"

So, salseros, watch out, there is a new kid on the block, and he's armed with good ballroom posture (at times) and a deadly cross-over lead (which he likes to do repeatedly until he can think of one of those five before mentioned patterns).
