Mike Salazar
I plan on being the best salsero in Indy. A little
presumptuous to say on a salsa website, knowing that I only know about
five salsa patterns, but it is this drive that keeps me dancing. I started
dancing ballroom 6 years ago in undergrad, and have just recently transitioned
to salsa. I think it was my roots, being half Puerto Rican and half
Mexican that have led me back home to this style of dance. I am happy
to have been chosen as the salsero of the week; this makes my goal,
salsero of the state, that much closer. I'll end with an excerpt from
Walt Whitman:
"
To be lost if it must be so!
To feed the remainder of life with one hour of fullness and freedom!
With one brief hour of madness and joy."
So, salseros, watch out, there is a new kid on the block, and he's armed
with good ballroom posture (at times) and a deadly cross-over lead (which
he likes to do repeatedly until he can think of one of those five before
mentioned patterns).
