Marques Gunter

Hey DJ, play a fast one for me! I have always been interested in dancing, but was confined to smoky night clubs where they play Top 40 music and grinding on your partner was considered dancing. It was more like a mating ritual, but I did not complain. I went to my first night club when I was 16 and never stop since. After seeing Yang and Erin perform at the Jazz Kitchen I was hooked instantly. Well after 5 months of lessons and dancing at the Jazz Kitchen, IL Gargano, Red Room, etc., I am having the time of my life. Now I see why people enjoy salsa dancing so much and stick to it for years. It can be so rewarding; it feels good and looks good. Spectators will shower you with complements and the women never denies your offer for a dance (OK, most of the time they don’t). “Has salsa changed your life?” was asked to me. “Not change but a new direction” was my answer. See you on the dance floor.
