Josiah Cazares

I was born and raised in right here in Indianapolis, IN but being part hispanic, latin music has long been a part of my life. My first experience with actual formal latin dancing was at age fifteen when an old friend asked me to be her parner in her cousin's quinceañera. A group of us spent a month ahead of time learning and practicing many different latin dances and routines for the big fiesta. It was all so much fun, I loved it.

Once it was over I completely stoped dancing, just a few hip-hop spots here and there. That was until last year when my roomate Joel invited my out with him to the Red room. I barely knew what I was doing and I hope that the toes of ladies I danced with that night have fully recoverd. But, I was hooked after that, it was like finding a baried treasure. People actually dancing, intead of just trying to have strange dry sex. People weren't drinking much either, I've never had so much fun going out after hours.

So, I began taking classes from Roberto, Mathias, and Kyle at the Indy Salsa studio, and aslo watching salsa online because I was locked in, picking it up quick, and could'nt get enough. And thanks so much guys for paving the way, you were inspirations. Even after coming a long way from that first night at the Red room, I started back at square one and learned to dance on2 as well; but the journey is faster the second time around. I've met lots cool people who love to dance salsa, and made some great friends. Latin dancing to me brings me a little closer to the latin culture that kinda I missed out on, and make me feel very connected to that part of myself. So everytime I go out to Salsa I always have a great time, and for me it's all about having fun. So I hope you're enjoy yourselves too. See you on the dance floor...!Hasta la pista de Baile!
