Erik Lukas

Salsa to me is a renewal of life energy I didn't know I would find again. It has been nothing but pure fun and it keeps getting better. I feel so lucky to have ventured (tentative baby steps at first, now a full out sprint) down the path of exploring salsa and making it a part of my life.

As anyone who has talked with me may know, my geographic location is in constant flux. I am between Chicago and Indy literally 2-3 times most weeks. Part business, part family, but I'd be lying if I said I didn't also plan it around the best nights to salsa in each city! It is a lot of driving but it's basically a positive addiction that's taken hold completely.

It sometimes saddens me to know that most people will never get to enjoy the same flow that many of us are privileged with every time we dance.

I encourage people to learn when I can and try to make it sound as unintimidating and positive as possible. I know once they get past that initial nervousness and a few lessons, they are going to love it just as much as the rest of us.

Thank you Erin and Yang for fanning the flame of my interest in this beautiful style of dance. My salsa fascination is now a roaring fire and threatens to spread fast and far anywhere salsa is danced. I can only see this addiction growing as time goes on (and I'm glad to have it that way).

Finally, if anyone's ever up for a road trip, just let me know ;)
