Theresa Martin
I've been dabbling in dance my entire life. Growing up I took jazz and
ballet lessons. In college, I danced with IUPUI's Moving Company where
I studied modern dance. My dance interests have crossed many spectrums
including contra dancing, both line and circle folk dancing, and various
styles of ballroom dance. Practicing Vinyassa Yoga, kickboxing and Pilates
have also contributed to my passion for moving. For more than two years,
I studied salsa with Douglass "Tee" Thompkins at Red Brick
Dance Studio and I currently teach Beginner Salsa Classes for INTO Salsa.
When you can't find me on the dance floor, I'm either teaching English
Composition at Purdue University where I'm working on my MFA in Creative
Writing or I'm busy writing freelance articles for Indianapolis Monthly
Magazine and Indianapolis Woman. I currently live near Broad Ripple
with my three kids, Ariel, Eli, and Kestrel.
