Sharon Albert

I was born in Indianapolis and I am a true “cream and crimson” Hoosier. I am honored that Yang asked me to be a Salseras of the week. I have always loved to dance, but had no real formal training until last June (unless you count the years of gymnastics as a kid). I began classes at the Red Room/IntoSalsa Studio and continue still today. The Latin dance and music is an awesome thing! To watch the creative, sensual movement is fun and inspiring. It has taken me a while to get confident in my dancing and I still struggle to follow the lead. But I have learned to laugh and just have fun with the rhythm.

Thanks to all the friends that I have met through the studio, I have learned that the Indy salsa scene is great. The more I go and dance the more I want to do it. I look forward to checking out the Salsa scene on some of my trips this summer. I am headed to Europe and Puerto Rico and I hope to acquire a few new moves from their Salsa scene. Maybe I can bring a new move to town! Salsa on . . .  and remember

DANCE, As though no one's watching you,
LOVE, like you've never been hurt before,
SING, as though no on can hear you,
LIVE, as though heaven is on earth.
