Nancy Oldham

For the last 15 years, I have co-run a family business of selling musical instruments and related accessories. I have no specific title in my line of work because in a family business "you do it all". I am an herbologist, and am very active in my church where I chair and participate in missionary work, leadership summits, as well as having been former Chairman of the Board of Trustees for several years, and more recently am in my 6th year of being Chairman of the Administrative Board for Church Council. My love for Carribean Islands travel is what brought "salsa" awareness to me. Everyone in the clubs seemed to be having so much fun that I wanted to be a part of that fun. This music is one that fills the soul; but I don't have to convince you do I? What an incredible amount of sensuality and expression in this form of dance! Being a non-dancer up to this point - I am having the time of my life. After having experienced a major knee injury in late 2002 that put me in a wheelchair for 3 months, and still doing physical therapy even to this day (2005), I never thought I'd be dancing today. I have taken lessons regularly for a few months now from Erin and Yang, and just can't get enough "salsa" in my diet. I can't thank you enough Erin and Yang!!! I look forward to more lessons from them, and more dances from salseros on the floor. I expect many more Carribean travels where I can experience a variety of salsa, merengue, and bachata, because no matter if you're in the Carribean or in a different area in our own USA, salsa is varietal. The salsa community, no matter where you are, is a social community that knows no boundaries, makes no assumptions, and exhibits unconditional love for the next individual. I must admit that another love of my life (besides my husband, which is obvious to anyone who knows me) is driving fast in my (and my friends') sports car(s). I sometimes wonder if I missed my call in life. Meanwhile, "catch me if you can" on the dance floor! I'll be anxious, but not waiting!
