Maria Delon
Ive always been a passionate creative
person that loves to try new experiences. So when a good friend of mine
invited me to hang out at the Jazz Kitchen in December of 2004, I was
excited to do something. After recently graduating from college and
moving to Indy from nowhere Indiana, I thought it would be a cool new
experience. If only I knew! It was an instant passion/obsession. I soon
became a regular at the Jazz Kitchen. Even if it meant dragging myself
out of bed to teach art to a bunch of kids the next morning.
Learning the steps was simple, but the rest??? After stumbling around
on the floor, I decided I needed lessons if dancing was going to be
enjoyable. I made it through beginner classes at IndySalsa. I felt some
comfort on the dance floor, but I still was not feeling the music. So
I got my hands on any salsa mix I could and listened every chance I
got. After some time, I felt I needed something different. I started
taking lessons at IntoSalsa. I felt an almost instant change. Yang made
understanding so much easier. Patterns started to feel more comfortable
and I could feel the music within my soul. Though Ive learned
lots, there is so much more I am anxious to learn. And I cant
wait!
