As a girl growing up in small town Wisconsin, my only options for
recreation were deer-hunting with my dad or taking community dance
lessons. I chose dance. Movement of any kind soon became my favorite
past-time.
When I moved to Indianapolis to pursue a career in speech-language
pathology, I thought that taking some sort of dance lessons with my
co-workers would be a great way to get to know them better. All of my
thanks to Sonja Kuhnau Overhiser for introducing us to Wednesday
nights at the Red Room. Per Sonja's recommendation, my friends and I
started taking lessons with Yang and Erin on Wednesday nights.
So, here I am, about 1.5 years later... completely addicted. I love
everything that salsa in Indy has to offer: infectious music,
wonderful new friendships, gracious / patient leads, and the
opportunity to sweat my stresses away. Yeah... I don't think I'm
