Julie McGuire
Rich and complex is the mix of people who dance salsa. Age, race, culture, and socioeconomic status don't matter on the dance floor. Everyone comes equally together to experience the joy of dancing. For me, self-expression through dance can be scary yet liberating. Learning to follow another's patterns, movements and style is fascinating. The possibilities are endless. Different energy and different karma keep each night of dancing in the clubs new and interesting. I am so grateful for all of the special people I have met.
Salsa dancing offers balance to the stress of living. Much of life is difficult and draining. Dancing helps recharge my battery and helps me focus on the positive, joyful side of life. It is relaxing yet energizing. Learning to dance takes patience, practice and openness. The opportunity to grow and learn in such a welcoming community is a gift.
