Carla Mueller

Hola salseros y salseras! My name is Carla Mueller. I was born and raised in Peru. I've been living in the USA for about nine years. I am currently a student of the IU school of nursing, and I am loving every aspect of it. However, when I get all stress out and tired of books, I like to go out and forget for a moment about college…. and what better thing to do than go SALSA dancing. But going to a club to dance salsa, merengue or bachata was not my style of dance music while growing up. The majority of the time the only music that I danced to was alternative and Spanish rock. Although, I knew how to dance a little bit of salsa, I wasn't a big fan of it. It wasn't until my cousin Rocio took me to Jazz Kitchen many years ago. That's when I fell in love with the music and the people there, but I was afraid to dance with the good salseros because of the spins and fast turns. After being off the dance floor for about a year in a half, I went back to do more salsa and ready to learn some moves. I started taking some lessons with Juan (in the rueda group) (Thank u Juan for all you do to keep the rueda style alive here in Indy!!) Then, I met my dance partner, Edgar, and we did a couple of competitions in naptown. It was a great experience and we enjoyed every part of it. Now, I am part of Intosalsa Dance Company. I've been a member for a couple months now, and I enjoy every practice and presentations that we have. This is a nice group to hang out with and thanks to Young and Erin for the opportunity. Now, Latin music has become my passion and my hobby. I love to go out, meet new people and share the dance floor with amazing dancers… So, you already know if your passion is Latin music… I'll see you on the dance floor!!
