Like so many salsa stories mine began
at the Jazz Kitchen in July 2004. In the beginning, I was just doing
my best to keep up, but I quickly became addicted. Dancing was and is
what I do for myself, my passion and my escape. I am able to leave whatever
it is behind and just be me on the dance floor. When I finished graduate
school in May 2005, I started taking classes with Yang & Erin and
really worked at improving, rather than just following. It's hard to
believe how far I have come in a relatively short amount of time. I
am so grateful to all the leaders who have offered dances, kept me on
the floor, and challenged me with complex moves, helping me to take
my dancing to another level. Beyond dancing, I have met so many wonderful
people and fabulous friends through the salsa community - even quite
a few who don't dance.
"There is a bit of insanity in dancing that does everybody a great
deal of good." ~Edwin Denby
