Amy Guzman

I have enjoyed dancing since I was very young and used to "choreograph" little routines and dance outfits with my childhood friends and "perform" for my family.  I did gymnastics for the first part of my life, up through college, participating on a performance/ministry tumbling team. More recently I took hip-hop/cardio dance classes and was offered Jazzercise instructor postition.

I first tried latin/carribean dance while traveling in Latin America.   I then tried to keep up with many more experienced leads on the dance floor at Jazz Kitchen (and elsewhere), and practiced dancing to the rhythm at home.  I started taking lessons at IntoSalsa because I  wanted to improve my technique and turns.  I was invited to do the Performance Team and I am really loving the challenge.

All-in-all, Salsa dancing has been a fun way to socialize, exercise, and  connect with my Colombian background.   Dancing for me is not only a stress reliever, but a way to express myself in a "soul/passion" kind of way.
