I dance for the world and for myself. I wish for my dancing to inspire others and to bring happiness into their lives. I fell in love with salsa dancing as a teenager in South Bend, IN. I learned purely from going to the predominately Mexican antros in Elkhart. I love when I I find that dance partner that I can click with on the dance floor. For me this means that there must never be instructions issued verbally, for example telling the partner how to move his/her body. I believe that if two people really have a passion and an understanding for/of dance they must respect eachother's rhythms and never criticize. Instead, they must use their bodies and their rhythms to find the point where both person's styles are met. Currently I am not a professional salsa dancer, but who knows, maybe in the future. However, I am a professional Middle Eastern Dancer, and I perform in various cities every week, including Chicago and West Lafayette. www.myspace.com/lilcarmelita.
